Capital Improvement MASTER PLAN
Play it. Enjoy it. Live it. It's a way of life,
Champions Run Master Plan
A Message From CEO/GM Andy Reetz
Dear Members,
We are excited to share that the Sports Complex Project is complete! If you haven’t had a chance to visit, now is the perfect time. The new complex features four outdoor tennis courts and six indoor pickleball courts that are located inside a brand-new facility designed for year-round play.
The new kids' turf area—officially named Kraken Court—is also in full swing. The main field has created additional space for kids to enjoy activities like basketball and volleyball. It has already hosted soccer and baseball camps, as well as a few foam parties! Additionally, we've expanded the Sand Bar area to elevate your poolside experience throughout the summer and into the fall season.
Looking ahead, we’re preparing to begin the next step of the Master Plan, which includes several key Golf Course Projects. These efforts will center on three main areas: improving turf conditions, stabilizing the creek for better irrigation management, and completing the cart paths.
The scope of work includes the following:
-
Re-seeding all fairways
-
Inter-seeding of greens
-
Leveling and sodding tee boxes
-
Replacing remaining asphalt cart paths with concrete
-
Creek stabilization on holes 14 and 15
-
Lake restoration on hole 13, to improve irrigation and return it to its original depth and size
As we prepare for the exciting renovation ahead, work on the course will begin with an initial herbicide application on Monday, August 25, followed by a second treatment on Thursday, August 28. To ensure the effectiveness of this process, the course will be closed on August 28.
Shortly after, you’ll notice the fairways beginning to turn brown—but don’t be alarmed. It’s all part of the plan. In fact, consider it a temporary nod to the classic Scottish links-style experience—right here at home. It’s a fun and unique opportunity to enjoy a different style of play as we begin laying the foundation for a revitalized course.
The Golf Course will officially close for the season on September 2 and remain closed through early Spring 2026 as the full renovation gets underway. The driving range will remain open and follow its regular seasonal schedule.
This timeline allows us to complete long-awaited improvements that will significantly enhance playability, turf health, and the overall golf experience.
