Champions Run Master Plan

A Message From CEO/GM Andy Reetz

As we move into April, we are approaching an important milestone for Champions Run. Following more than seven months of construction and course improvements, we are preparing to reopen the golf course on April 21, 2026. This project represents one of the most significant investments in the club’s history and is foundational to the long-term quality, playability, and sustainability of the course.

Since closing on September 2nd, extensive work has been completed across the property. All fairways have been reseeded with advanced bentgrass to create a consistent playing surface. Tee boxes have been laser leveled and resodded, cart paths have been reconstructed, and greens have been interseeded to strengthen turf density. In addition, creek stabilization on holes 14 and 15, completed in partnership with the City of Omaha, along with the dredging and restoration of the irrigation pond, will provide long-term benefits to both course conditions and water management.

As part of our spring transition, practice areas are reopening in phases. The driving range opened last month and will remain mats only until April 21st to protect turf conditions. Both putting greens will open on April 14th, and the short game area will follow on May 1st. This measured approach allows us to establish strong, healthy turf while gradually expanding access for member use.

As the course reopens, members can expect improved consistency across all playing surfaces and an enhanced overall experience. While early-season conditions will continue to develop with weather and growth, the improvements made position the course for a higher level of performance throughout the season.

With the return of golf operations, activity throughout the club will increase significantly. We appreciate your patience during this transition and ask that all members do their part in maintaining the course by observing cart path guidelines, repairing ball marks, and filling divots.

Thank you to our ownership group, Greg Jones and the agronomy team, and all project partners for their leadership and commitment. Most importantly, thank you to our membership for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you back to the course on April 21st and to a great season ahead.
